Works well. Just like a wired modem

I've owned the SBG901 for the last 3 years (purchased May 2010). Until recently, the wireless part of the modem kept dropping the connection. So I called the local cable company (Comcast) to see if this was a problem on their end. They checked everything and couldn't find anything wrong, so they decided to send a technician. Recommended for Time Warner/Roadrunner Cable

This is one of the more affordable wired and wireless options, and this modem is supported by Time Warner/Roadrunner. Out of the box, you must first plug it in and turn it on, then call your cable provider to provide them with the MAC address, which is listed on the bottom of the device. Great modem, terrible router

The Motorola Surfboard Gateway SBG901 wireless cable modem was initially very disappointing. I called the cable company to set it up and at first they couldn't find it. I tried a rented modem for troubleshooting and they were able to set it up. It was my first call to them. After that call I played around with the modem and found that I had to hold down a button on the front for it to recognize the cable connection from the jack.
