The first device did not work as described. It won't turn on unless you press and hold the power button for a few seconds. 2 seconds should be in low voltage mode but there is no amber LED. There is no sound signal. It was almost impossible to open the battery compartment by pressing the latch, it fits so tightly - you had to put a screwdriver in the slot. Let's return it and see if the replacement works. Update: The plugin works as expected; 4 stars out of 1. The quality control on these devices needs improvement and the 2nd device also has a stuck battery compartment and is almost impossible to open, but other than that it's a good economical device and quite delicate.
