I have a marine grade for outdoor use as a turnbuckle on guy lines for tarps, shelters, tents etc. I have installed a tether twice the length of the loop. In the large photo you can see the slack of the safety cable at normal tension. In the close-up photo you can see how the wind turned and blew straight into the shelter. This made him hoist like a sail and I was afraid he would pull the stake. But when I checked the line, the cord took the extra load and was able to take even more. I will attach these loops to every quickdraw I use in the future. A warning. If you cut several pieces at once and then burn the cut ends to seal them (as you should), do so outside or in the bathroom with the extractor fan on full blast and then keep the door closed. Smells a little like burnt rubber.
