I decided to discuss this topic to clarify (no pun intended). Let's start with why I wanted it. First, I love history, so I'd probably want anything that reminds me of 1940's nostalgia for my house.1. Looks... this thing will spark a conversation with anyone who comes to visit. It really stands out with its unique look and really brings out the old vibe of the house. The box is solid and doesn't look cheap. It is made of natural wood and looks high quality. Although the dials and front are made of plastic, they look and feel a bit like metal. The turntable lever is metal, and the door lid lever is the one you have to push a little before closing it. This is CLEARLY stated in the manual, so people complaining about it are just nonsense.2. Sound. Okay, this thing ranges in price from $110 to $140. I don't know what people expect for a sound from something cheap without a subwoofer and big speakers, but to complain about the sound quality in this regard is just silly. There are holes for speakers on the front and side, but the sound only comes from the front. The side slits are purely cosmetic. Yes, it could use a little more bass and it would be great if it had the ability to connect to a little more, but I would definitely sacrifice that for the classic look it brings to my home. Bottom line, the sound is ok. To give you a better idea of what it sounds like, imagine how much sound you can get from an iPad or Macbook and you have an idea.3. functions. Has an additional connection for various MP3 players. The enable switch is located on the back panel along with the connector. This device also comes with a cable for this very purpose. I won't comment on the tape recorder because I don't have cassettes, have no intention of buying them, or ever using this thing. The CD player drawer is located at the front. The only thing I hate about this part is the big red display with the track number front and center in CD mode. It banishes nostalgia and may well be a bit incognito. The same applies to the traditional "CD logo" on the CD compartment. It looks out of place given the classic look, and it doesn't have to be. Out in 2015. I think people already know what this slot is. The radio stays true to the old days thanks to the manual tuner. That makes fine-tuning a bit difficult, but that's how life was back then. In any case, it doesn't bother me much because I hardly ever listen to the radio. Last but not least, the meat and potatoes in this device is a turntable. READ first. . MANAGEMENT. If you've never used a player before, don't write a nonsensical review about how crappy it sucks if you haven't taken the time to learn how to use it properly. The player works great and sounds great. I don't know if people under 30 know what vinyl records are and what they're supposed to sound like, but the allure that brings them back to the forefront of music is precisely the 'grainy', warm, imperfect sound. CDs and MP3s are too clean at the moment. Almost cold and clinical. This is especially annoying when listening to old jazz or WWII music. The turntable shines. It really transforms the sound space into something from another time. Overall, this device is incredible for its price. It looks great, sounds great and is a safe buy IF you do your research. Yes, it happens that you order something and it breaks during transport or it's just a defective product. But people stop, stop, stop exaggerating the quality of a product because of a single flaw. Things like that happen. So my advice to anyone who doubts about this product. This is quality, and like I said, if you know what you're looking for, know what to expect, and have the patience to read the manual and troubleshoot errors, then I promise you won't be disappointed.
