Seems to work fine with a Dewalt 20V Max XR 4.0 AH battery. Quite an interesting design, but the photos in the instructions weren't as detailed as they might have been. The manufacturer did post a video that made the connection more clear. You have to rotate the appropriate set of contacts into the exposed position so that you can have the correct connection for the particular battery you're using. I also deducted one star, since when using the light with one type of battery, there is still access to connectors to other battery types. I covered the open areas with electric tape, since I only will be using either the power cord adapter or a Dewalt battery with this unit. It still is a clever design and offers more flexibility as to how it can be powered. The main advantage is that it doesn't have a non-replaceable battery integral to the unit, so you can use power tool batteries that you might already have on-hand.
