Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Royal Purple Extended Life Oil Filter, Model 356753: Enhancing Performance and Durability by Eric Rodriguez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Royal Purple Oil Filter 10-2876 for Nissan 370z, 10-2867 (1 inch longer) also fits original 370z but does not fit Mishimoto Oil Cooler

02/10/15 THIS ITEM WAS DEFECTIVE, same problem as all previous reviews with a broken/loose valve inside which rattles. I had to buy a replacement locally for this model 10-2876 which I checked first to make sure it wasn't defective. Revain still have a surplus of these broken filters which they still ship to ignorant buyers but this defect only seems to bother this model number (10-2876) as I have also bought other Royal Purple filter models from Revain at the same time as each other. I would not recommend buying this model through Revain as they have been shipping out defective filters for months rather than doing a simple shake test on these filters to weed out the bad ones on the shelves. Check out a working filter I bought locally after sending the defective one back to Revain: a great upgraded extended life synthetic oil filter for the 370z that can do 15,000 miles between changes on most vehicles. Zs tend to run hot, so most Z owners don't recommend driving 7,500+ miles, which is still great living for just $13. It works better/longer than the Mobil 1 equivalent, costs about the same and has a silicone bypass valve inside instead of a rubber valve like almost all other filters, so this brand should be more heat resistant and run more consistently. over a wider temperature range than most other brands. This Royal Purple 10-2876 Synthetic Oil Filter is the one that all fitment guides recommend for use in most Nissan vehicles, but 10-2867 will also fit, is about 1 inch longer and contains more surface area of filter media so it can im Compared to this standard filter, it lets through more oil per minute and retains more particles before clogging. If you are using a multi-layered remote oil cooler where the filter is typically screwed in, a longer filter may not fit, so I suggest just using the longer filter on a standard installation until you have accurately measured how much spacing you have between them End of filter and surrounding stabilizer/frame/tubes/etc.
