only lasts for 2 tank fillings. Run further diagnostics to prove that the pump is defective.

UPDATE - 08/31/17: 08/19/17 I unplugged the unit's electrical plug while still in my truck and powered the power connector and ground connector and pump grounded didn't work. It feels like the motor is stuck in the pump and won't turn. I removed the tank and tested again with the pump removed from the tank and it did the same thing. The mesh screen wasn't dirty at all, didn't appear to have any suction or cavitation issues. The pump only lasted 2 tank fillings before suddenly jamming while driving. It got stuck when I had a FULL tank too. I went to an Oreilly auto parts store and bought a $224 brand name pump, installed it and it has worked for me on my 3rd or 4th fill up so far. find a way to get my money back on this topscope pump. I don't know how to get it back now as it probably still has fuel in it. UPDATE - 7/31/17: On 7/27/17 my Dakota died while driving on two tanks of gas after installing a fuel pump. I couldn't find any blown fuses, I swapped out the relays and even made a relay jumper to put 12v into the pump power connector. and the pump does not make the noise it should after turning the key. The only thing I can do to prove it's the pump is to unplug the pump and apply 12 volts directly to the pump to see what happens. This connector is quite difficult to access without dropping the tank, so it won't be easy. I now have to tow my truck about 50 miles to my personal shop for further diagnostics. I will contact the company for a refund if I can prove the pump has failed. work on electrical systems for the technology center of the car factory. Either my wiring harness from the power distribution box to the pump is broken, or the pump is broken. Well, it's the fuel pump. My original one died at 198,000 miles but this one says it lasts about 500 miles. We strongly recommend purchasing a special ring spanner for the retaining ring. I bought one from "OEM Tools" which is a brand name for $20. While using the tool, I tapped one of the hands with some love and it immediately came loose. You just need to remove the clip to install the fuel float, then put the clip back on and install it there. There is an alignment triangle at the top. Match this to the two lines on the tank and block it.
