Well programmed on many levels - supports a wide range of scan speeds/resolutions for connection to monitors/recorders. Picture is good for the price. There's always a bit of noise in shadowed areas - but that's normal for a security device. The lens is simple - just focus. The sharpest range for this camera is actually less than 6 feet. Has excellent macro/close-up capabilities with this lens. From 12 feet to infinity, you need to focus on the big screen (monitor) to get the best sharpness possible. I bought it to use as an additional camera in video conferencing (HDMI switcher) and it's perfect for that application. I'll probably buy 1/2 more of these.
