Review on LG 27UL500-W 4K UHD IPS Monitor πŸ” with Freesync, HDR, Tilt Adjustment, and Wall Mount Compatibility by Brian Cade

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great budget monitor with 4K resolution.

Can't wait for this to be a great 60fps gaming monitor. Can't expect this to be a bright monitor for the price. HDR is fine for this price. I like the matte screen which helps reduce glare compared to my previous monitors. Annoyingly I bought 3 of these and one had a stand that was slightly higher than the other two so they didn't sit perfectly side by side. The bezel is also half the size of my previous monitors, but still a bit thicker. than i expected. FYI, Windows HDR support is missing, where you have to toggle it on and off as needed. 1 monitor or graphics card, no cable. My current diagnosis: Annoyingly, it is constantly being warned against using only the supplied cables, which cannot support HDR and 10bit, or only 10bit without random flickering (3-4 times a day). Had to downgrade to 8 bit (done in nVidia control panel). Also note that I'm using a GTX1070 to drive all 3 monitors. Update: few weeks on new cables, never flickered. All 3 monitors are set to 10 bit.
