This is my first food processor, never had one, have always used a Borner mandolin for chopping, slicing etc. I bought this machine in January and waited a few weeks to write a review. It took me a while to get used to, like any new technique. I chopped a little, chopped, kneaded the dough for the cake, used a juicer, chopper and whisk attachment. Here are my thoughts and notes on how the processor works. 1) Juicer - Works pretty decent, better than cheap plastic juicers but not as good as really expensive high speed juicers. It takes me 30 to 40 seconds to squeeze all the juice out of half an orange. 2) Slicer - Works great with tough veggies like carrots and beets. Slicing apples for apple pie is easy! Doesn't work with a bow, I have to keep using Borner for that. 3) Chopper - works great for carrots and beets. My processor comes with two chopper attachments, I've used both, liked both for different dishes. Tip - After chopping carrots and beets, wipe the white plastic part with oil, it will wash off the paint. After you grind something, that little bit is left between the disc and the plastic lid, as some reviewers have noted. But that doesn't bother me, because every chopping system leaves small pieces of vegetables. 4) Whipper - whips, as expected. 5) Chopper - I really like it. It doesn't puree, you can still taste the little bits, which is crucial for some dishes like tapenade or gazpacho. It doesn't blend (nor should it) - I wanted to make mango mousse, but I still saw tiny chunks of mango, so I ended up with an immersion blender. However, the puree comes out really pureed and perfect! You have to use a cake dough grinder and it works great. I've tried it for both pancake batter and some muffins, everything turned out great. The processor is very quiet. I don't find it bulky, it's very compact and I like its design. It's easy to clean. Everything is very securely locked. This can pose a storage problem as the parts come in different shapes and sizes. I did find a good storage system for it though so it doesn't clutter the kitchen (the processor with the bowl and lid fits in a large plastic bin that slides across my shelf and all the parts fit in another smaller bin that fits further ). on the same shelf). I wish the instructions were more specific, maybe with examples of recipes you can make and what attachments you can use to do so. I hope you find my comments helpful and help you with your decision.
