I've bought many 1kg spools from Gizmo Dorks over the years but I've had a few large ones (50+ hours ) prints, and I bought 2 rolls that big so I didn't have to deal with changing filament. After 20-30 hours the print quality deteriorated a lot (rough surface, spongy fill - signs of moisture in the PLA) and I had to throw the prints away (see photo). Tried second roll - same problem. printed the same details with Overture PLA and the results were perfect. I would try to return this item but it took 1/4-1/2 of each before there was a problem. Either way, $200 down the drain. I will either switch to Overture or if I go back to using GizmoDorks I will stick with the 1kg coils. As an experiment, I heated 1 bun in the oven at 170F for a couple of hours to see if I could remove some of the water. Results are expected. But don't do this with a new purchase.
