Review on πŸ’§ High-Performing Corded 110V AC Submersible Sump / Utility Pump - Rule A53 Series - 1800 GPH by Kyle Lawrence

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good pump but now you have to pay extra for features that were standard on previous models

Because I have had several of these over the past 10 years that have been used to remove water from pool covers. If the one I bought is ok. Passed 5 years ago, bought new. The one I bought has a very short cord and doesn't come with a base to properly mount it on the pool cover (luckily I had some spares from previous pumps that broke down). Note that Rule is now offering this model with a 24-foot cord for an additional $30, and the base can be purchased for $28. These factors make this pump expensive to use as a pool cover, as it won't last more than a couple of seasons (and that means it's left off most of the time, so the sensor isn't checking for detection every minute). Water). Also note that the pump does not specifically state that it can/should be used to cover the pool. In terms of features, this pump cleans the pool cover very well/strongly and a detection feature is a game changer. You can leave it plugged in all the time if you dare or like me and check the weather and if it might rain then I plug it in. Only a small amount of water remains under the pump. You'll definitely need a base, and you can get away with the short cord by using a different extension cord. April every year) and tried to keep it away when it wasn't raining.

Pros
  • Using this pump as a pool cover pump will void your warranty, it cannot be used to prevent water from building up on the surface of the pool cover collects
Cons
  • Obsolete model
