DO NOT BUY! fits combos modem router

I could say some positive things about it and write a pros and cons review but the cons are fatal and if you are reading this review you will be glad i'm not hemming and how about that. The modem has 3 major disadvantages, one of which, perhaps, can be eliminated with inconvenience, two of which cannot be eliminated. 1) It is poorly isolated and overly sensitive to interference from other nearby Wi-Fi devices. It MAY reset itself (or fail to restart) periodically (i.e. every few minutes) if you place it anywhere near a computer, transponder, or anything else that uses Wi-Fi. In our case, that meant we couldn't place it where we wanted in our home, we had to remount and move other equipment, and we had to call Comcast twice to get it installed. And if you don't realize that this over-sensitivity is the problem, you could end up falling down the rabbit hole of stupidity of tech support, returns, etc. 2) 2.4G network, which is more efficient for multiple devices at the same time. , weak or something, so it covers way, way less of our apartment than any modem we've ever used on our block. We had to buy an extension cord as the 2.4 signal in the next room dropped to 0 Mbps from the router every few minutes. Our Comcast 60 Mbps is now 15 outside the tiny room where the router is located. 3) Factory reset. You cannot rename the network or change the network password because you will end up with ghost networks. It's poorly designed, low quality, time consuming junk. Just don't buy. We tried Revain's customer service. They couldn't solve any of the issues and offered a refund which we will use.

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
