The sound quality of this radio with tiny speaker is very good, clear and crystal clear. The knobs and knobs are very solid in assembly and work smoothly. The amount of power resources built into this radio is fascinating. Good strong signals are easy to find with the selector's tight tolerances. Although the select button is analog, there are five bands in the select table around the button, but they have no identity unless you know which band they are for. Tuning options are many, but up to what range? The analog range selector is practically meaningless. On the front of the radio is a chart that explains what analog dials are used for. I haven't got the microchip slot working yet, my microchips are probably too slow for the latest technology and I need to buy a faster microchip before my microchip slot will recognize my microchip. I haven't used a solar panel before, so I'm not sure how it works exactly. It's probably automatic and will likely work in the sun when the batteries or crank power are low and the radio is very accessible. I don't know, I think it will be waterproof, no point in finding out.
