The fabric was synthetic - and not very comfortable. This is the type of fabric to make drawstring bags out of, not something I would want to make a piece of art out of to hang on the wall or give as a gift. The pattern was a photograph of the finished product, which was screen printed onto fabric. I'm used to the simple lines used to mark the pattern. I didn't like this photomask because it's difficult to cover well and creates a distracting background instead of letting the tape take center stage. Also, the ribbons included in the kit did not match the colors that were screen printed onto the fabric. In turn, this discrepancy reduces the impact of the finished work. In the end, I didn't even use the fabric that came with it, so I traced the main lines of the pattern onto your fabric. The instructions aren't the most convenient I've come across. The instructions, although in English, sound clumsy. The instructions for each stitch are clear enough for the inexperienced, but there is no indication of the order in which the entire project should be worked. All materials to complete the set are included except for the basic tools like scissors and hoops.
