Review on FieryRed Synthetic Winch Rope 3/16&#34 by Trey Michaels

Broke on first pull, definitely not at 8200 lbf!

You hope you don't need a winch, but when you do, it will work better. This cable broke on my first try under a direct pull. Friends side by side stuck in a rut. It didn't dig into the mud, it was just a bad angle, and its wheels didn't match and just spun. I hooked him right behind, he helped by accelerating in the opposite direction, and the winch cable broke immediately. With a metal winch cable, I pulled much harder without any problems. The leash is brand new, no UV, no obstacles, jerk blocks or anything with burrs or edges that could touch or cut the leash. Everything was done as it should be with synthetic winch rope. It's just crap and totally overrated. I will try another synthetic winch rope. More durable, different manufacturer. When I take it off I will use it as a very expensive clothesline. But I'm not even sure if he can handle it. It's garbage.

Pros
  • Cable
Cons
