Why do fat bikes with factory tubes leak slowly? First, 99% of all slow leaks are found where the tube faces the outside (shoulder) of the tire. NOT where the tube rubs against the inside of the tire/wheel. Why? After fabrication and installation, the tube will begin to "stick" to the tire in some places while awaiting delivery. If you don't deflate and inflate both tubes before cycling, these "sticky" spots will puncture. Trust me, I've been at this for a while. It is so easy. Next time you need to change your hose, dip it in water and see where the bubbles are coming from. . . . Never inflate one of these hoses with compressed air! Always use a hand or foot pump with a pressure gauge. I got very lucky with Mongoose - drive safe!
