I've only had time to use this attachment about 5 times but so far I'm absolutely delighted with the results. If you're someone who wants to take the step from the bottom straight to the twist drill, then this is a good choice. It feels extremely durable and has so far passed through pine, poplar and oak really easily leaving a very smooth finish. I have used it in the dive and on the table. Both worked fine. It's just day and night from a straight edge. Are there parts that are likely to last longer? Sure, but they cost over $100. For $30 I think this is a great piece if you're a hobbyist or even an intermediate pro who doesn't do heavy wiring all day. I like the small tube that the bat fits in. The only downside is that there is no clear minimum tuck line for novice roomers. Make sure you measure the depth. The best advantage is the really long cutting length. I had no problem putting it on a table and getting a 1/4 x 3/4 piece of wooden box joint. In my opinion, the extra effort is worth it for a full 1" cutting height.
