Good things come in small packages

This particular milling cutter is somewhat unique in that it is a 1/4" solid carbide milling cutter with a 1/2" shank. The 1 inch depth is good enough to use, but the number one reason I bought this drill bit for me is the shank diameter. A larger shank makes a very stiff drill bit and that combination is quite hard to find.

High quality, well worth it

Pretty slots for the plexiglass door of the LPL (Little Public Library). I have several Whitesides and a collection of cheaper ones that I bought as a set. The difference in the results is significant. Whiteside bits will not burn or crack wood. Obviously they are very sharp and hold up well. If you haven't tried the Whiteside bit yet, you should be able to feel the difference for yourself.

Pros
  • power and hand tools
Cons
  • not reliable

Great hit, great price. So far it's impressive.

I've only had time to use this attachment about 5 times but so far I'm absolutely delighted with the results. If you're someone who wants to take the step from the bottom straight to the twist drill, then this is a good choice. It feels extremely durable and has so far passed through pine, poplar and oak really easily leaving a very smooth finish. I have used it in the dive and on the table. Both worked fine. It's just day and night from a straight edge. Are there parts that are likely to last…

Pros
  • Straight, spiral and trimming attachments
Cons
  • I'll text back
