Review on Roman Carbide DC1842 Carbide Forstner Bit, 3/8-Inch by Daniel Tonini

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Definitely cuts a hole!

I needed a large flat bottomed hole cut into very hard Cebil wood. The regular forstner bit just got destroyed and all nicked up in the first 1/16" of an inch. So far this bit hasn't had a problem with the Cebil wood at all! For just a few dollars more, I would highly recommend this bit if you want something that will last. The only complaint is some tearout at the bottom. but really can't expect a different outcome considering the hook on the bit and the grain orientation.

Pros
  • ‎Carbide
Cons
  • The bit may not provide a clean exit hole for some materials
