Bad quality control.

Overall, this seems like a decent monitor, but the quality control sucks. I bought this monitor at the last minute, just before the start of the online school season. Arrived in the box a few days later and everything was fine until I put it up. Half of the hardware was missing, and the connector that protrudes from the real monitor to mount the stand has molded metal material that plugs into one of the screw holes. I looked at the options and Revain was (and still is a month later) out of that monitor. I was forced to use it like this as we really needed a monitor. I had to file some of that casting material with a metal file to get the stand to slide even when casting residue got in the way, and then secure it with one screw instead of two. These screws were also not included with the monitor and were missing. Overall the monitor seems great for my kid and their online school situation but with these quality control issues I doubt it will last very long. I'm also skeptical that it won't fall off the mount as it's only half attached, which of course is a safety issue. Today is the end of my return window and as the Revain is still not in I can't trade it in for another unit so I'll eat up the cost of this purchase and keep it for the short term until the market gets back to normal and I can have one find a suitable replacement.

Pros
  • computers and accessories
Cons
  • Poor contrast: If the black and white levels aren't set correctly, the image on the screen can look washed out or too dark.
