If you can work in a dark room, I think that's fine at best, but who wants to work in the dark. If you work in normal lighting conditions, the red laser is not suitable. I was installing floor tiles in a normal sized bathroom and couldn't see the red light on the floor after walking less than half the room. I would not under any circumstances recommend this to anyone for anything. I also have a Dewalt GREEN laser level that is used for wall tiling which puts them to shame. In my opinion, the brightness of the GREEN laser beam is the only way out.
