I bought a fire smoke detector because I need an extra sensor for my upstairs rooms. I have a detector downstairs connected to a security system. That is not enough. You should have sensors all over your house that will wake you up in the event of a tragedy. It is very easy to install and the ceiling is the right choice. It has a big button that you can test with a stick or something. The quality seems good and the battery life is 10 years. The alarm volume is 85 dB and can definitely be heard. Overall this is a good option and appears to be effective as a warning device.
