PI 4 POE Powered - Networking Products

I use many raspberry pi's in my house (octo printer, home assistant, pi-hole, network storage, etc.) and I always hard-wire to the ethernet port. to connect to the internet. The problem I always have is finding another outlet nearby to plug it where I want. I decided to try them out and see if they could meet both of my needs by connecting an ethernet cable to each Pi. I didn't have high hopes based on some reviews and knew that the Pi 4 connector delivers 3.5 amps while they only promise 2.4 amps. Before you buy them, you need to understand a few things. You need an Ethernet switch that supports POE.2. If you have a switch that supports POE, you need to make sure it can deliver the power you need for consumption. Not all POE switches are created equal!3. If you have a switch that supports POE, not all Ethernet ports can support POE, please make sure you use a port that supports POE.4. Due to the power limitations of POE and these splitters, they may not provide enough power for your Pi when it is under very heavy loads. I think some of the reviews saying it doesn't work may have people who didn't have the right hardware. .I got the splitters, plugged them in and they worked! I ordered more and they worked. I haven't had one that doesn't work and now I don't need a power plug and ethernet cable for each Pi. An ethernet cable does both and I'm very happy. Another great item that accompanies these splitters are micro USB adapters, meaning they can be used for Raspberry Pi 3 or other devices that may not have USB-C.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Crumpled
