This range finder is perfect for golf. But for hunting uphill range compensation is useless. The rangefinder only compensates for angle, as if you were playing golf, and only in golf mode, so that should tell you right away. This means it reads the target as further uphill, but correctly reads downhill. The problem, of course, is that MOA shooting is not the same as golf shooting. So if you aim at a target at 350 with a 30 degree elevation angle, the rangefinder will say it's "playing" at 375. This is a missing animal. In fact, 350m uphill will of course still register at around 300 yards as MOA doesn't work the same way. If you are a hunter and looking for an accurate range finder for everything this is not it, if you are a golfer this is perfect. If you're just hunting from trees and it's all downhill this will work fine, but if you're a western hunter and need to get into the mountains this isn't the best rangefinder for you. It works well, but remember that going uphill is always wrong. Also, the retaining bar on my range finder keyring broke within the first week I received it, I emailed Revain and customer service several times and they never responded.
