Update: I didn't want to bother with the return shipping, so I used the superglue + baking soda trick to seal the speaker on the back of the unit. This is now the ideal sound level. Since the sound was my main complaint about the device, I really enjoy using it now. -- Initial review I sent mine back because the noise it makes is too loud and harsh. Even when I'm home alone, it bugs *me* with a loud beep every time I move it (to set a new timer, or to pause or resume a timer). If other people are around you, they will definitely hear it from another room and get annoyed with your little routine. And in no case do not go to the library or any other public place. Aside from the volume issue, the device is aesthetically pleasing and I love its extreme simplicity. Pros: - I like the cube design. That's nice. - Simple and very easy to use. Cons: - You chose the simplest, most annoying sound this thing can make, and then it only has one setting - Loud! I thought of muting it somehow, but it's not worth the hassle. - The battery cover is too thin and may rattle when you move the watch. - Not a big deal, but too big - I'd rather reduce it to 60%. its current size (I think the limiting factor is probably AAA batteries).
