This is great to keep in your trick kit. How many times have you been asked to connect two desks in an office with just one POE port? I know it would be better to run the new wire back to the nearest circuit breaker, but sometimes this is impractical or cannot be done in the time required. Just plug it into a POE socket and you now have two POE sockets. You don't have to deal with 5-port switches, power supplies, power injectors, etc. This is a two port switch that delivers POE to both ports and also receives working power from POE. them permanently or use them temporarily until you can install the correct cable. LEDs on all ports (1 input, 2 output) indicate the working status of the port. My only problem with them is that I find them to be a little pricey. But I think it's worth having at least one in your tool bag in case you need something similar.
