Review on πŸ”΅ MEACHOW Scratch Resistant Handlebar Bike Mirror, Adjustable Rearview Mirror with New Glass Lens, Bicycle Mirror (Blue, Right Side) ME-005RB by Mike Dart

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Adjustment can be difficult due to the small size of the reflective surface.

My app is an older Trek MTB that I am modifying for rough terrain/road use. The handlebars are wider than on a road bike, but not as wide as on many newer mountain bikes. The size of the mirror clamp corresponds to the standard handlebar diameter and can therefore not be clamped to the grips. In my case, I had to move the shifter/brake lever mounts inward to allow the mirror to reflect movement behind me. This allows me to brake normally, but I have to reach for the mirror mount to shift gears. This would be unacceptable for real mountain biking, but it could work for flat terrain. The time will show. One of the issues is the bar that the mirror is mounted on. The mirror is on a ball mount, but the shape of the stem head limits upward movement. You can compensate for this somewhat by rotating the entire assembly on the handlebars. This doesn't work on my bike due to the need to access the derailleur and brakes. This system is probably best suited to simpler bike styles with wider handlebars.
