I agree "Meh " for power tools and hand tools

I was very pleased with this new torque wrench model. And out of the box, it's pretty neat. But once I really started working on my car, its flaws became all too apparent. And I'm not a fan anymore. First the advantages: It is really easy to read and set torque values. This is a very good feature. The handle is comfortable and comfortable. And when it clicks, the thrust decreases noticeably. It's quite long and easily delivers plenty of torque at higher torque settings. This is a disadvantage at lower settings, however, as you can easily over-tighten the fastener at lower settings. I broke off the head of the bolt at the bottom. I tested the calibration using the luggage scale method, which is good enough for government work and it was actually close enough for government work. Now for the cons: It's TERRIBLE. in the narrowest space. The head and neck are too thick. Most snap-on torque wrenches are tapered above the handle, so the head and neck are relatively thinner above the handle, allowing them to be used in tighter spaces. Not this one. The shaft has the same shape and diameter up to the head. And the head is FAT! And instead of a little toggle switch to change direction, it has a HUGE metal plate sticking out of an already oversized head. It only has 45 teeth, giving it an 8 degree turning angle, making it difficult to work in tight spaces as you have to move the wrench quite a bit to get room to turn again. In combination with a very thick key, this is a problem. Here are some measurements: The shaft and neck are 22.3mm in diameter. The head, excluding the derailleur or drive square, is 20.9mm thick. The front derailleur protrudes another 4.6mm over the head. In general, the thickness of the head without the drive square is almost 25mm. It's almost an inch. Then add your outlet and it's practically useless in a tight space. Can I recommend this to a friend? no I used this wrench for a big car repair project and I actually regret buying it. I've had it for a little over a month and have already bought a replacement for it from another manufacturer. [EDIT] I also tested it on a freshly calibrated snap-on torque wrench and it was fairly accurate and consistent.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other alternatives
