I had a problem with heat caused by an IC getting hot. There is not much space around the circuit, it is built in a ceramic IC socket. In the past, heat sinks were either fixed or attached with screws. I ordered a heatsink kit from Revain and all the heatsinks were attached with 3M heat transfer tape. I used 2 heatsinks and this solved the problem I was having. Small pieces of 3M tape were already on the heatsinks. The tape I bought will be used later so I can use some of the old heatsinks I have.
