Heat sink tape that really works

I had a problem with heat caused by an IC getting hot. There is not much space around the circuit, it is built in a ceramic IC socket. In the past, heat sinks were either fixed or attached with screws. I ordered a heatsink kit from Revain and all the heatsinks were attached with 3M heat transfer tape. I used 2 heatsinks and this solved the problem I was having. Small pieces of 3M tape were already on the heatsinks. The tape I bought will be used later so I can use some of the old heatsinks I…

Works like any other hot melt tape

Works great. Good adhesion. Used for stepper motors that are very hot. It doesn't seem to lose its stickiness when heated, but I'll let you know if that changes over time.

Unusable computers and accessories

Bought because I was replacing a component in my PS4 and needed to replace the factory applied heatsink compound. After thoroughly cleaning everything, I used a piece of it and put everything back together. PS4 instantly overheats and shuts down when trying to download a game. After taking everything apart again, but this time with heat dissipation paste, everything works fine. Definitely not recommend.

Working. The product corresponds to the ad. What else needs to be said? If thickness and width are needed, then fit. If not, trim it if necessary. The temperature of one of my GPUs dropped by almost 5 degrees Celsius.

Good quality good for internals

The NB chip got hot and the new thermal paste got up to 50C in standby so I tried that and now it works at low 30C ! I'm very glad I tried this thermal tape and finally got a NB chip in the range I like.

Temperature increased compared to no heatsink

I bought this tape to attach heatsinks to Pine Rock64 chips. Clean chips work "warm but safe" at 53°C/127°F. With this tape and bare aluminum heatsinks, temperatures are consistently 61°C: 142°F ("Works warm but safe” according to DietPi OS). Removing the tape and attaching bare heatsinks to the chips brings the temperature down to 46'C/114'F ("cold run"). I later tried a similar looking 3M tape and the temp fell between warm and cool, an acceptable compromise as it is adhesive and removable. I

Thermal performance is good, still holding

I used water to cool my graphics card and the water block doesn't cover the RAM modules and VRM chips, so I bought some mini aluminum heatsinks and this tape. The mini heatsinks have been hanging upside down on my GPU for months and none have been lost or fallen off. The pace is also improving. Happy with how this band is holding up so far.

Ideal for 3D printer glass bed

I got a roll of this to glue a borosilicate glass plate to the base of one of my 3D printers. The tape worked great and after a few rounds of heating and cooling it was still holding. Much better than the binder clips used by many, IMO. It's a decently long roll, at first I wish I'd bought a smaller one because I wasn't sure if it would work well or not, but now I'm happy and still use it for glass beds on my other machines and myself use something left over. .

I was trying to get a rare overdrive chip for my 486 (Evergreen AMD 5x86 with integrated voltage regulator).
