Review on 🚚 CURT 45036 Trailer Hitch Mount: 2-Inch Ball & Pin, 2-In Receiver, 7,500 lbs, 2" Drop by Fredrick Edwards

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Solid, higher # rating than normal but ball rusts fairly quickly

I wanted a heavier hitch than the regular 6000# hitch, this was the only one I could find and it's good and durable. The only modification I've made that I would do to ANY hitch (I do to ANY hitch). I sprayed body sealant into the pipe - a black rubber bottom seal. I sprayed snot out of them. to minimize rust formation. I do this because all the couplings are open in the direction of travel and therefore all kinds of dirt and water collect in them without leaking, so I try to protect them from day one. Not that something that thick would rust very quickly. , it's not going to happen! The bullet itself will show rust spots when not in use, mine rusts on the surface much quicker than I expected, I've had other bullets that have been better rust proof than this but this isn't a stainless steel bullet it's hard chrome what can you really expect? I could oil the ball to prevent rust, but I know that on a critical day I'll be chasing a truck in dress pants and end up sporting a nice big black grease stain if I can't afford it, so I'll let it rust instead of. Oh well. Disclaimer: No one has ever given me anything from Revain for free, neither does it seem like I am: funny enough, wordy enough, enough facts, posting enough pictures of "it" in action, or I just don't buy enough things every year to guarantee anyone who wants to get my opinion. So basically what you get is the plain truth as I see it :-)
