Review on 🎨 9x12 Arches Watercolor Pad, Hot Press by Kristen Simpson

The best watercolor paper!

I really can't say enough about Arches paper and the heat press is my favorite. If you're considering a less expensive paper and hoping it will hold up the same way, it won't, there's no substitute for the real deal on watercolor paper. The paper is so expensive because it takes a lot of time and labor to make paper that will stand up to repeated washings with water - and that's okay. Due to materials and thickness, it will also bend less under water. We all started somewhere, probably with cheaper watercolor paper from a craft store. And you can play around with it, but the color just doesn't look the same on bad paper. Good paper is the most important material in watercolor painting, even compared to the quality of the paint itself. The heat press is my favorite because of the smoothness of the paper and the vibrancy it brings to the colors. When I use this paper I feel like I'm not really doing anything, but it's the paper that creates the effects. It's also very easy to draw. There is no other paper I will use!
