I really can't say enough about Arches paper and the heat press is my favorite. If you're considering a less expensive paper and hoping it will hold up the same way, it won't, there's no substitute for the real deal on watercolor paper. The paper is so expensive because it takes a lot of time and labor to make paper that will stand up to repeated washings with water - and that's okay. I have LOTS of different cotton paper, a lot! I mainly use a Daniel Smith pipe with a Winsor & Newton Pro pipe. not cotman. on the first page of this work. Again, I have many watercolors. DS, W&N, Schminicke (pan), Holbein, Paul Reubens (really super cheap. I think I got 18 5ml for $8-9. GREAT color for beginners!), ) and some cheap baby colors (1 can, 1 tubing ). Absolutely amazing paper, but it came all bent. I'm very, very picky about my paper. If there's even a little dent in the corner, sometimes I won't use it .and it's like 2 M's are bent in it. I'm really upset as I was going to paint tonight. I know I can wet the whole paper and lay it down for a day or so exactly to "hopefully" " back out of the wavy but to straighten it's wrinkles if i was in the paper straightening industry i'd be on the other end of this purchase i'm on the coloring page lol
