Works great

I plugged it into the socket next to the gas stove, turned on the smallest gas burner with no ignition. The reading rose from 0 to 1 within 15 seconds and then rose steadily to an alarm for 30 seconds. Then the unit decreased at the same rate when the gas was shut off. So yes, he responded quickly. And it was loud enough to hear throughout the house. I also got one for my kiln and gas dryer area.
