I used this spacer to install a full size side vision sensor on my dad's boat. We cleaned the bottom paint, prepared the space and glued the pad to the transom. Two days later we are in the water at 40 knots and the cushion is holding strong. It's hard to believe duct tape can be this strong, but it is. UPDATE: Last weekend I rode a crab line that was floating in the water. The cable is wrapped around the inverter and the motor. The tail strap is so strong that the line will bend the transducer's *metal* mounting plate instead of ripping off the transom.
