Works best with marine electronics

Very easy to install. Followed the instructions and it seems solid. After having to fill and repair about 4 holes I didn't want to drill the mirror again. It worked wonderfully. And the included sensor cable holders are another big plus!

Pros
  • Rugged construction
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Sufficient but expensive!

I was hoping to install this unit without drilling and the 3M adhesive works great, but I found my transom wasn't perfectly level so I had to use screws in every corner. Only four stars because I think it's overpriced for what it is.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Poorly designed

Worked great for my needs.

Honestly, I obviously didn't use them for their intended purpose, but they fit my needs perfectly. The previous owner hit something with the tarp and ripped the van skin around the mounting bolts and it was ugly and leaking so this mounting is mechanically attached to the rig and also 3M glued.

Pros
  • The best in their niche
Cons
  • There are flaws

Jumbo Pad Weight Rating.

Advertised for the strength of 3M VHB adhesive. The instructions state that it is not recommended to install anything that weighs more than 3 pounds. I bought this to mount a 1k transducer that weighs 9 pounds at the rear. I didn't want to risk losing a thousand dollar converter because it came off the tail. They don't list the weight in their ads, they show videos of two trains pulling each other. I installed a smaller pad with a small converter, it's still on. Just know what to put on the big

Pros
  • Nicely packaged
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Initially skeptical. Now fully convinced.

I used this spacer to install a full size side vision sensor on my dad's boat. We cleaned the bottom paint, prepared the space and glued the pad to the transom. Two days later we are in the water at 40 knots and the cushion is holding strong. It's hard to believe duct tape can be this strong, but it is. UPDATE: Last weekend I rode a crab line that was floating in the water. The cable is wrapped around the inverter and the motor. The tail strap is so strong that the line will bend the…

Not useful if you have a fast boat.

Glad to receive this and install my new Lowrance block and active imager. The first thing that struck me when the Stern Pad arrived was that the instructions clearly state that it is NOT rated for speeds over 60mph. So basically it's useless on any modern bass boat. My boat moves at 72 miles per hour on a good day. I don't know how much my converter weighs either, but it's huge and heavy. The instructions state this does not apply to items over 2 pounds. None of this information was listed in…
