Yes, the wiring can be a bit confusing at first, but some simple experimentation quickly shows you what does what. The top lead is to the ground from the LED in the switch, the middle tab is from your power source, and the third lead is to the peripherals. I would assume you could power other things off of the LED ground tab since (I'm assuming) there's an appropriate resistor in line with that LED, so if you needed to have indicator LED's somewhere else showing this switch is on, that lead would be a good one to use, as you probably don't need other resistors inline.The cap can be a bit touchy, but as it's intended to be a safety cover, that can be a good thing. If you need it to be less likely to close, file off the back of the cap that sits flat on the plate, that will tip it back farther and away from it's tipping point.
