Unfortunately I only discovered the error when I soldered the microcontroller into my home-made Atreus keyboard. My first test of the microcontroller was downloading the firmware and it turned out to be fine. It took a bit of hardware debugging to determine that pins 5 and 10 were shorted somewhere on the board. I was able to reconfigure the key switch matrix to use two different pins and tweak the firmware generated by QMK to use the other pins. So not a complete loss. I have a working Atreus keyboard for my Macbook Air.
