Don't worry, good for teapots and tea makers
Bought a few weeks ago to replace another teapot. It looks fine, but soon stopped regulating temperature and repeatedly overheated. The meter read 203F and then stopped, but the kettle kept heating up. The first time I landed on a geyser and kept hovering over it until a replacement came. When the replacement arrived it had definitely been used before (poorly packaged back) and the bottom of the kettle rattled a bit. I didn't want to test it with a loose piece. I'll send it back immediately. Generally disappointed. Now I'm trying a different brand.
