are installed on the F150 4.9 liter engine. 1993 with 336,000 miles. I don't know why these coolant sensors are failing, but they are failing. This is probably my fourth. I wanted to install an OEM Motorcraft part because I found that third party electrical parts were mostly junk. The electrical connection is different so I had to install the included pigtail. The wires are easily accessible, there is no polarity, the instructions say to solder if the wires are thin, which I did, and the adhesive-backed heat shrink that came with it worked great. There's a big difference in the size of the wrench you use to install the sensor in the engine, but fear not - it screws straight into place. See photos of the old and new sensors.
