This dowel installer may be more expensive than many others at Revain (and elsewhere), but "you get what you pay for" is definitely true! Everything about this kit screams QUALITY. Excellent workmanship and high-quality materials make this reliable tool ideal for your splined joints. The guide drills in particular are made of solid stainless steel which ensures smooth guides but won't break as more holes are drilled - this thing is going to last a LONG time! I've used it to join several pieces of *hard* oak and the results have been superb. The ability to work with 3 different sizes of dowel makes this tool incredibly flexible. Add some clamps to hold it securely in place while drilling and you're done!
