As mentioned, the manufacturer's template needs to be revised. First, the three holes on the template do NOT match the bracket! This is very bad! Also, the template does not align the extension. Luckily I modeled it, otherwise the mounts would have been a few inches lower. To install I lined up the bed extension, marked on the template where the fasteners should be and then used the measurements to complete the installation so the two sides were equal. If you follow the template blindly, the extension will not be parallel to the tailgate when installed and if you install the brackets too close to the tailgate you may rub the top edge of the extension against the tailgate. Otherwise very nice product! Looks good, easy to use, fits well once installed, setup was easy.
