My used cart came with Trojan T-105 batteries - about 10 inches tall. Upon further research I found that 10 inch rods are also on the OEM rod list. (and not 11.625" like those sticks?) These sticks terminate the thread about 1/2" before the battery latch contacts, leaving the batteries loose on their compartment. Since you are shading the tree mechanics, you cannot tap your own threads further down the shaft of the bar as the diameter will decrease after the factory thread ends! So just snipping off an extra 1.5" won't work! If your batteries are around 11" or larger, it may work.
