I bought this product to seal my doors as we suffered from drafts all winter and there were a lot of insects in the house in the summer. We put a seal around the door frame and at the base of the door and it sealed the door so well we couldn't see any insects other than ants. I cleaned the door frame with Windex to make sure there was no residue that would prevent the gasket from sticking to the door frame. I then measured the required amount of sealant for the area I was working on and cut it out. I then removed a small piece of backing paper to begin gluing the gasket to the door. This allowed me to control where I placed the seal and keep it straight. I slowly peeled off the pad as I walked down the door frame. Finally, I made sure to go back and press the seal to make sure it was properly sealed. The instructions say to give it time to seal. I gave him a few hours and then opened and closed the door as usual. I think the product is great. Be careful, the thickness of the product is quite thin. If you have a large gap between the door frame and the door, you can increase the size a little. I think if you measure the gap you want to fill it makes it easier to determine the thickness of the foam. Also note that the product covers three sides of the door, but again this depends on the size of the door. With a dual roll I was able to seal a medium sized front and back door.
