It was cheap but I didn't expect any problems. Water doesn't drain well - it sits in the base and drains very slowly, so be aware of that if you have it in your sink because whatever's in your sink will end up in the noodles or whatever you have try to empty. Another problem is that spots start to corrode after just a few uses. At first I thought I needed to clean it more thoroughly, but turns out it has rust spots on it now. Clearing the base is also a trick, but that may be the price we have to pay for this type of base.
