2006 gmc acadia installation problems due to adhesive

fits 2011 gmc acadia driver side. I had to take the door panel off to get to the switch. The top plate that holds the switch cannot be removed as it is permanently attached to the door panel. If you try to pull it out, you'll break the plastic links that attach it to the armrest. HE DOES NOT HOLD THE CLAMPS. Upon removing the switch through the door panel, I found that the switch was also stuck in place with matte black glue. With difficulty I managed to remove it and replace it with a new switch. My experience with a 2011 gmc acadia. Hope that helps.
