This special "wick" (mesh size #4) "is exactly what the (radio) doctor asked for".! ;) This mesh size (#4) does the best job (especially with some rosin added) to "pull" the solder away from your circuit's traces, although using more solder requires more of its length to be used on the joint, and that's why I ALWAYS buy a 10 foot roll (80-4-10) and not a 5 foot roll (80-4-5).
