If you need a sine/square wave generator, this generator will deliver excellent quality and low distortion - even better than some desktop signal generators. The only reason for 4 stars is that I would have liked an LED power indicator. The only way to know if it's off is to check if the frequency switch is off. Have left it overnight several times. Also, an indication of the amplitude would be helpful - either a grid or a central fixation on the exit knob. I understand that additional features mean additional costs. For the price it's still great quality and overall I'm happy with the quality of the B&K.
