Review on PANASONIC LUMIX MIRRORLESS Thirds H H020AK by Gim Ji ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The quality exceeds all expectations, I recommend to buy.

In general, I really like the lens. Its pluses (compactness, aperture ratio) outweigh the minus in the form of slow autofocus. When shooting a street, you get a gorgeous picture if you shoot people from a distance of 1.5 - 3 meters on open apertures. I recommend buying a portrait lens for this lens - and then you can get by with two lenses for most scenes. Sample photos at the link: https://www. Flickr. Com/photos/151415700@N07/tags/lumix20mm/

Pros
  • I use the Olympus Pen E-PL8 as a staff member. Therefore, the pros and cons in relation to Olympus cameras. 1. The lens is very small and light. About the size of a whale Zuiko 14-42 EZ when folded. 2. Fast. On a whale lens with a focal length of 20 mm, f / 4.2 is obtained, and here it is already f / 1.7. It is quite possible to shoot in the evening or indoors without a flash. 3. Quite sharp right away with an open aperture. It is quite possible to shoot a half-length or shoulder-length portrait at f / 1.7. On closed apertures, the lens is not much sharper than a whale plover, but the picture is denser and more contrasting. 4. It turns out smooth, beautiful bokeh, rich colors. It seemed to me that the lens conveys halftones better, less often knocks out white. 5. When the lens is turned on, the "trunk" does not come out. It's a fix. Therefore, it turns out to turn the camera on and off faster. You attract less attention from strangers. 6. Lens body in two colors (silver overall and black in front). Therefore, the lens is suitable for a black camera, and for a white one, and for a silver one. 7. Convenient for shooting various objects up close, small MDF. 8. It is written that it is made in Japan.
Cons
  • 1. Slow autofocus. On the whale plover 14-42EZ, focus is rebuilt in a split second. And here you can see how it drives in and out. 2. When shooting video, autofocus is also rebuilt for a long time. It can be seen how the focus first runs across, then moves back and only on the third attempt is established on the object. Probably better to shoot video on manual focus. 3. When shooting close subjects (subject, flowers), the focus may also wander. 4. On Olympus, the lens gives chromatic aberration in jpg. Olympus rules XA for native lenses, but Lumix is not native. However, in Lightroom this is easily corrected. 5. On Olympus, by default, the lens gives a vignette. You need to enable software vignette correction for third-party lenses in the camera settings. 6. Nuance. If your camera does not have an electronic shutter (like the E-PL8), then you can often hit the minimum shutter speed of 1/4000. During the day in the sun, I often shoot at f / 2.2 - f / 2.5 (otherwise overexposed). If in the shade, then you can set f / 1.7 - f / 2.2.
